I purchased maximum version of this program (Video Converter Ultimate) in order to convert H.265 4k material to Apple ProRes for further processing. This program is a cheater: During conversion it apply additional contrast to the original material: 1. Black point level goes down at least 10 points, which destroys details in shadows. 2. Probably the same trick is used on opposite. As a result, converted material looks a bit better from the beginning. But in fact, details in shadows are gone, and colour are incorrect. Also i can not see any advantage in conversion speed (MacBookPro 15 late 2014). Again cheating. Verdict = useless. Please refund.

It’s an easy to use, complete converter. However, when changes are made to the application, Wondershare needs to update it’s online user manuals. I only use it a few times a year, but when changes are made to the options and menus, it would be nice to ba able to pull up information that matches what I see on the screen.

The full version of Untimater Converter 4.x has worked for me when other converters didn’t. I’m using v 4.7 now. I just go to it, relying the other 3 converters on hand as a fall back. That happens but not often, 8-). I’ve created editable files of non-copyright material from unencrypted Read Only disks without problems, Try the free version if you must or just opt into the full feature software. Life is short and a few $$ will let you devote the time you struggle with converting movies to things you actually enjoy. Fair warning, save your receipt, User ID and password. WomderShare sometimes upgrades requiring you to validate ownership of their software. Duhhh!!!

I have yet to run across a scenario where I couldn’t convert the file from an old format, video cd being the most recent one.

This converter works best on my 2ghz i7 QC with 16 GB of ram. A 3.8 GB vob file converted to a 2.93 GB MPEG-4 in around 30 min. On a 2.26GHz core 2 Duo with 8 GB of ram and a ssd drive a 3.21 GB VOB converted to a 2.09GB MPEG-4 in just under 60 min.

I needed to save movies I’d edited in iMovie as mpeg-2s. I tried another converter, with no success. This one works! It works quickly and the output is good. A downside for me is that it was expensive, but it is worth the money.

This is without a doubt the best video converter I have ever used, and I’ve used several. I would usually migrate back to using QuickTime 7 Pro, but don’t see that happening with VideoConverterUltimate. It has the perfect triad of simplicity of use, amazing rapidity of conversions and excellent quality end products! I have only used it for a couple of days now, so can’t speak to it’s longevity, but so far, I am very impressed!

It has worked for all conversions that I have needed. Very user friendly. Highly recommended! So good!

I have tried so many converters and this one is by far the best. Simple, converts just about any media and I havent found a file yet that it couldnt convert. Love it! You wont find better...

I have converted all kinds of files of various formats with great success. Discovered a bug in the current version but cannot contact anybody to get a fix. Not a deal breaker but very irritating. After conversion stereo audio channels become switched from left to right and right to left. Requires a second pass to put them back in the right order.

Over the years, I’ve ripped home movies into different formats from AVI to MKV. With an AppleTV, you really need to convert to MP4 (it’s more universal than M4v). So from the start, this has worked out perfectly. No degredation in video quality during conversion and high speed conversion from MKV to MP4 is available. Solid product. Would advise others.

This app while being powerful is extremely easy to use and handles an exchaustive list of file formats.

I would recommend this app to anyone who wants video or DVDs stored on computer HDD, iPod, iPhone, or tablet. I Have used other converter software in the past - this is the easiest and most versatile I’ve used hands down! The only ‘’con’’ I can think of is it does not convert BluRay ( hint to to app writer! ).

I use this app all the time and have never had any problem with it. It is simple to use and does exactly what I need it to do.

Since the most recent update, the app crashes (won’t launch). Prior to that, the application was ok - did a decent job at ripping videos but the user interface could use some work to make it more useful.

Automatically upgraded and system crashes. Do not install this upgrade it does not work. I love this program I hope they ficx it soon.

This version is crashing on Launch. I used this program for everything, as when it is working the program is invaluable. I’m very upset that this isn’t working now.

Not sure why they have this app available for download on the app store, it won’t run and they actually charge you for this application…Not good. Will be asking for a full refund.

Love it!!! It did work before the update...works great converting .MTS files to Final Cut Pro X! BUT NOW IT CRASHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WILL NOT OPEN!!!!!!!
